We are pleased to advise DIPA (Durban Investment Promotion Authority), now has refreshed its brand into “Invest Durban”. We’re a partnership between Durban Municipality and private sector stakeholders. We offer free advisory services and act as a facilitator between all spheres.

Invest Durban, was established by the City Council and organised business as the “First Stop Shop” to stimulate new investment into the metropolis.

Main Purpose:

To facilitate sustainable Durban investment, for the benefit of all through:

  • Proactive investment promotion and marketing of Durban as a premium destination;
  • Proactive communication and marketing of Durban’s large projects and core strategies;
  • Identification and development of new investment & infrastructure opportunities, especially for previously disadvantaged groups;
  • Attraction, support and facilitation for foreign investors into Durban;
  • Improvement in the economic and development environments, in partnership with National, Provincial, City and Business Authorities;

Partners include:

Fellow Metro Council Departments, National Department of Trade & Industry; Trade and Investment KZN; Durban Chamber of Commerce; KZN Growth Coalition; Dube Trade Port, DBSA, IDC, Eskom & other sector based organised business bodies.

Services offered:

Invest Durban delivers a world-class Investor support service, plus investment facilitation and retention activities by:

  • Following a focussed investor relationship management, marketing and communication strategy, with a healthy focus on broad-based empowerment and local partnerships;
  • Making available specific city and nationally based economic and sector information, or opportunity studies;
  • Facilitating the arrangement of appropriate meetings with, and solutions from the region’s businesses and public sectors at all levels;
  • Leading site visits to, and site evaluations of industrial and commercial premises, along with introductions to complementary service providers, empowerment executives, financial organisations, and sector bodies such as SA Property Owners Assn, plus our formalised Industrial Clusters;
  • Advising on and accelerating all investment related regulatory processes towards speedy approvals, along with the required bulk infrastructure connections.
